This week, I want to encourage our Zone volunteers to break out of the mold. Although taking reasonable chances sometimes leads to disappointment, it more often heightens excitement and enthusiasm. A long time ago, we pretty much banished the words "But we've never done it that way!" In The Zone (and at Cornerstone) we believe that discipleship was never intended to be a predictable exercise.I want to foster innovative thinking. I promise that our staff and key volunteers will refrain from shooting down any wild brainstorm you, our volunteers, come up with. Forget "staying within the lines." Start thinking of new ideas.
Perhaps you see areas where we're missing the mark, where we've out-lived a method, or where we use old-fashioned, ineffective methods. We don't want to have a brain-locked, gridlocked ministry. In the weeks and months to come, do your best to rethink and reinvent even our most successful ideas. Let's reach this next generation for Christ any way possible!
