Volunteers at VBS

I love the fact that we have about 18 hours to spend/invest in each child at VBS the week after next (in Brentwood) and in July (Livermore). It’s something we as children’s ministers long for. So many times (even while we’re sometimes glad the 90-minute service is done) we feel we’d love to have a bigger impact, more time to really get to know kids, more opportunities to build that close relationship with the children in our ministry. VBS affords that opportunity.

Each year we have volunteers who take time off in order to serve at VBS, really desiring to make the most of every opportunity with the children. One volunteer is actually taking into her home two children who will be staying with her for the duration of VBS!! She wants to have even more of an impact on their lives without the distraction of their (very dysfunctional, unhealthy) home life.
