Preping your Heart and Your Calendar

November is going to be a very busy month with lots to do.

ELECTION DAY
As, we pray and prepare for Election day we have a great opportunity to start teaching our kids about the Election process. I recently found a fun article about teaching your kids about this special American event. I really think this is a great teaching idea for a classroom or at home.

Check it out at childrensministry.com

I really liked this verse the author of the article shares: Titus 3:1. The Bible says, "Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good."

SERVE THE CITY
Another wonderful November event we are preparing for here at Cornerstone is "Serve the City". This is a great time to be Jesus with skin to our communities. Not only are we sharing the love of Jesus to those outside of our homes and church doors, but this is another great teaching time for Parents and kids.

I encourage all families to jump in where ever they can and SERVE THE CITY. Last November my family and I served a Thanksgiving meal at the Livermore Veteran's Hall and I cannot tell you the joy I felt watching my kids serve the Veterans and their families. My kids really jumped in and just loved this special time and the conversations after were a great time of reflecting on how blessed we are and how GREAT our God is.

Again, I found a great article that I wanted to share with you about Servanthood.

It can be found on the Focus on the Family website here.

As you prepare for November to start, I pray that this month will be sweet as you prepare your hearts and your family to vote, serve, and ,of course, give Thanks.

As you have teaching moments about the Election or Serve the City with your family please share with us what the kids thought, learned, how they reacted, etc.
